NAHT – The School Leaders Union response to the States of Jersey elections.

The results from the general elections held in Jersey have been announced today and the politicians who will sit in Jersey's States Assembly over the next four years has now been decided.

In total, 92 candidates stood for the 49 seats in the first election since wide-reaching reforms to the island's States Assembly.

Reacting to the results, Robert Kelsall, National Secretary at the NAHT said: “The elections have produced some significant changes to the makeup of the assembly and we offer our congratulations to all those that have been elected. The NAHT is keen to establish a productive and mutually beneficial working relationship with all members; we look forward to working closely with the Assembly. Education professionals stand ready to continue to deliver for children and young people of Jersey. Our Charter for Education set-out our key priorities; Meeting the needs of all children, well-being, funding and the recruitment, retention and development of education staff. We urge all Assembly members to place these at the heart of everything they do.”
