Commenting on the government's response to the initial teacher training (ITT) market review report, published today (Weds 1 Dec), Nick Brook, deputy general secretary of school leaders' union NAHT, said:
"NAHT is pleased to see that, in its response to the ITT ‘market review’ consultation, the Department for Education has amended many of the report’s recommendations and, crucially, bought more time to work with the sector to introduce reforms.
"As ever, the devil will be in the detail of the government’s response. It is critical that any changes to teacher training improve stability and increase supply of well trained teachers in the subjects and areas of the country that need them most."
