For middle leaders 

NAHT has a category of membership specifically for middle leaders. We offer tailored support and services for middle leaders, online advice and resources, and full trade union protection to give you peace of mind.

Am I eligible? 

To be eligible to join NAHT, you need have a leadership responsibility within an education setting. Roles that are eligible include ALENCO, SENCO, phase leaders and subject leaders. This is not an exhaustive list and if you would like further clarification please email joinus@naht.org.uk.

Help and advice

 

Classroom 

If you have responsibility in a specific area of the curriculum or are simply interested in best practice, our guides can help. 

Employment

If you want to know about your employment rights and whether you're being treated fairly and consistently, you can find help and advice on matters which may concern you as an employee. 

Management 

If you line manage staff or have accountability for a specific area, you can access help and advice to assist you in making informed decisions when carrying out your role.

Isle of Man General Election 2021

NAHT Isle of Man has produced a manifesto for education for General Election 2021 which sets out four key priorities:

  • Meeting the needs of all children
  • Wellbeing
  • Funding
  • Recruitment and retention of education staff

 

We urge all prospective candidates to place these at the heart of everything they do if elected to the House of Keys.

Pledge for education

We are also calling on all candidates to sign up to our pledge for education:

‘I pledge to work with the profession, listening to and acting on the views of school leaders as the experts in education in the best interests of all learners. I commit to working with the Isle of Man NAHT on their manifesto for education.’

Education Hustings

Isle of Man NAHT has organised a series of hustings events focused on education. It is an opportunity for school staff, parents, governors and anyone else interested in the future of education on the island to hear from the candidates.

All candidates in the constituencies have been invited to attend, and there will be an opportunity for you to ask them questions around education and schools.
