NAHT Crown Dependencies

NAHT represents school leaders in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. We provide advice, training and support for our members on a range of issues faced by senior leaders in schools. Along with our colleagues in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, NAHT is there to defend and extend the rights of school leaders. 

Alternatives to full-time schooling

NAHT receives requests for advice from members on occasions when either a school or parents seek to depart from the norm of being wholly educated in one single-schooling establishment, typically:

  • a school place, but with a reduced timetable
  • flexi-schooling
  • elective home education (or 'home schooling')

This advice looks at these three different arrangements.
