Nick Brook, deputy general secretary of school leaders’ union NAHT, said: “The Prime Minister is right to recognise the work that school leaders and their teams have done during lockdown. Nine out of ten schools have remained open during lockdown to support pupils and their families. Schools have also worked hard to put in place arrangements to return all pupils to class in September. However, we know that confidence remains low amongst families. We now need to see the government mounting a major public information campaign over the summer.”
