Responding to a new report by the National Foundation for Educational Research into the National Tutoring Programme, James Bowen, assistant general secretary at school leaders' union NAHT, said:
"While the National Tutoring Programme is still in its infancy, this report shows that when schools are trusted to make their own decisions about how to deliver tutoring it can have a clear and positive impact.
"It's important that the government continues to fund the ongoing pandemic recovery efforts and empowers schools to decide on the approach to tutoring that works best for them and their pupils."
