Leading for the Future
In October 2021 NAHT(NI) launched Leading for the Future Manifesto 2021/22 in Parliament Buildings, Stormont, where MLAs and school leaders gathered to debate the important issues in education including school funding, special educational needs and school leader workload.
NAHT(NI) held a series of political hustings on education across the region in advance of the Northern Ireland Assembly 2022 elections. Promises were made by the candidates, and we will hold those elected to account on behalf of members and school children.

Joint union pay campaign
Following the rejected pay offer that was made to both our members and members of the other teaching unions, we have agreed to act jointly with INTO, NEU, and UTU to make finding an acceptable resolution to the question of teachers' pay an election issue. Under the banner of the Northern Ireland Teachers' Council (NITC), we have launched the Fair Pay In Education campaign to ensure that any new Executive formed after the May elections seeks to deliver a fair pay offer to teachers and school leaders.
