Leadership Focus April 2023

We’re delighted to share issue 95 of Leadership Focus.

With our Annual Conference just around the corner, this issue takes an in-depth look at what delegates will be discussing at NAHT’s sovereign decision-making forum, which this year boasts almost twice as many attendees as previous years, making it the largest Annual Conference in recent memory.

The theme of this year’s conference, which will be held in Telford from 28 to 29 April, is ‘Strength in Mutual Support. Power in Collective Endeavour,' and our lead feature in the magazine looks at some of the ways this theme will be embraced throughout the event.

Elsewhere in the magazine, you’ll find a long read exploring the current state of meal provision in schools, particularly the provision of free meals to those pupils that need them. It’s a fascinating feature that proves how multi-faceted and complex this important issue is.

We also have a great piece about NAHT’s Disabled Members’ Network, where we talk to group members who share their own experiences of school leadership and the interrelationship with disability.

We hope you enjoy the issue, and as ever, we’re keen to hear what you think, so please do send your feedback and ideas our way.

Best wishes

David Gilmore
NAHT head of communications
