19 August 2022 update:
In NAHT's newsletter (18 August 2022), general secretary Paul Whiteman updated members on the union's current position regarding the government's proposed pay award, saying he has never seen NAHT members so frustrated.
He urged members to get involved in forthcoming consultations with the union by attending local branch meetings, tuning in to union broadcasts, and returning surveys they will be asked to complete.

July 2022 update:
NAHT general secretary Paul Whiteman has laid out the union’s position regarding the recent pay awards.
In a recent email to members in England, he outlines two important aspects – the inadequacy of the pay awards themselves and the question of affordability. He said the union is focusing on both these aspects and will be asking members to engage in a consultation at the start of next term over potential next steps.
