The Circuit

It takes less than 5 minutes to register a defibrillator on The Circuit - the national defibrillator network, and there is no cost to register - it could make the difference between life and death.

A school defibrillator that was registered on The Circuit, has already saved a life in the local community. At a time when every second counts - you can make the difference.

Over 10,000 schools have already registered their defibrillators, however more than 12,0001 are still unregistered.

Why it is important to register on The Circuit

Thousands of families in the UK are left devasted by cardiac arrest every year.  Early use of a defibrillator with CPR can more than double the chance of survival. But if ambulance services don’t know where they are, they can’t direct people to them in an emergency. That’s where The Circuit comes in.

The Circuit is the national defibrillator network which provides ambulance services with visibility of the nearest defibrillator. This helps emergency call handlers direct bystanders to their nearest defibrillator when 999 is called.

44.5% of the most deprived areas in the UK do not have a registered defibrillator.2  If a defibrillator isn’t registered the ambulance service can’t see it.

Register your defibrillator on The Circuit today.

It is important that the defibrillators are registered by the Guardian - the person responsible for checking the defibrillator in your school. The Guardian will receive regular email reminders to check the defibrillator status, along with other updates such as when the pads are due to expire.

Defibrillators can be registered for the hours and periods that they are available

We recommend that defibs are placed outside in unlocked cabinets available 24/7 where possible.

However, defibrillators can be registered for the hours and periods that they are available, for example school hours during term time – it could still make the difference for someone and their loved ones.

Thank you for your help.
