NAHT Discovery Education Pathway: Building Parent Partnerships

Thursday 14 October 2021

Andrew Hammond talks to experienced senior leader, educational consultant and Pathway author Julie Keyes about the challenges and the benefits of building effective partnerships with parents and carers.

In this fireside chat, we consider the importance of the relationship between teacher and parent. Julie Keyes shares some tried and test strategies to strengthen and grow this partnership, including: how to enter parent meetings feeling empowered and confident; how to build trust and rapport; how to give honest and professional feedback when challenging situations arise. The session will be focused on how, as leaders, we can support and empower our less experienced staff to feel confident in this important area of a teacher's role.
