The key to positive change in the classroom

NAHT NI is delighted to welcome three inspirational speakers from Northern Ireland to our Early Years Conference in 2025, taking place at the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick.
Dr Sinead Davies, creator of Brainbox NI, will explore the science behind children’s brain development and the potential impact that we as practitioners can have every day in the classroom using her incredible knowledge and methods to engage children and ensure they are ready to learn. Dr Davies has been piloting a programme with a p6 class in a school in Northern Ireland. The impact and positive change in this classroom is so great that the school principal hopes to roll out the programme to the whole school.
Elaine McGreevy, founder of Access Communication, will be providing us with an introduction to Gestalt language processing and how we can attune to and nurture the uniqueness of a child’s communication in collaboration with significant others.
Lauren Spiers, the children's services manager at Barnardo's, will be giving us a research-based insight into building resilience in our young children and the importance of this throughout their lives. Lauren will touch on how adults in the classroom can also build resilience in response to difficult and frustrating situations. Lauren is in great demand and while she lives in Northern Ireland, she mostly travels to England to deliver her programmes, which are in high demand.
This conference will offer delegates an insight into these three major considerations for practitioners and offer practical ideas on how to apply our knowledge to make a difference for children on a daily basis.
