Responding to the Autumn Statement today, Laura Doel, director of school leaders’ union NAHT Cymru, said:
“The Statement today committed an additional £1.2bn funding for Wales. The Welsh Government have told the profession they cannot do anything to address pay without additional funding from the UK government. Well now they have it.
"As the Chancellor said in his address, education is a vital investment in our country’s future – to be pro-education is to be pro-growth. We need the Welsh Government to match that thinking and use this additional money to protect education and properly pay teachers and leaders.”
