NAHT Cymru Director Laura Doel said: “As school leaders, NAHT members are ideally positioned to create inclusive learning and working environments for all their pupils and staff, one which welcomes diversity and champions equality.
“The report demonstrates the great work many schools are already doing to support LGBT+ pupils and the importance of sharing and celebrating this.
“However, there is no hiding how discrimination against LGBT+ students can harm their wellbeing and mental health. In further strengthening this consideration must be given on the additional time, resources and investment needed to support the development of the curriculum and teacher expertise and confidence."
