NAHT Cymru

NAHT Cymru is the definitive voice of school leaders in Wales. We keep the best interests of children at the heart of everything we do.

Along with our colleagues in England and Northern Ireland, we are here to defend and extend the rights of our members, as well as provide advice, protection and support specific to school leaders throughout Wales

NAHT Cymru yw llais diffyniadol arweinwyr ysgolion yng Nghymru. Mae buddiannau gorau plant yng nghraidd popeth a wnawn.

Ynghyd â'n cydweithwyr yn Lloegr a Gogledd Iwerddon, rydym yn bodoli i warchod ac ymestyn hawliau ein haelodau, yn ogystal â darparu cyngor, diogelwch a chymorth sy'n benodol i arweinwyr ysgolion ledled Cymru.

NAHT Cymru calls for education to be at the heart of the 2021 Senedd elections

NAHT Cymru is calling on candidates, parents and the public to join its nationwide discussion on education.

Our manifesto outlines our five key priorities for education: well-being, curriculum reform, funding, additional learning needs (ALN) and accountability. We are asking all election candidates to take the NAHT Cymru pledge on the future of education and is holding hustings across Wales in some of the most closely contested seats to give candidates the opportunity to share their vision for education. Join the conversation on Twitter via #NAHTCymruPledge.

On the launch of the campaign Laura Doel, director of NAHT Cymru, said: “There’s never been a more critical time for education in Wales. We’re looking for a government that is going to work with the profession to invest in schools, support school leaders and commit to a fully-funded education system.”

Kerina Hanson, president of NAHT Cymru, said: "Education reform in Wales is about ensuring our children and young people are well prepared for the future. Education forms the foundation for the future of Wales, its prosperity and ability to sustain itself. As such it deserves to be at the forefront of policymaking and investment. We have a fantastic opportunity to make our education system world-leading, which in turn will support the future of Wales and its people. We are looking to the government to support the vision for Wales, to nurture a system in which innovation can thrive, to help schools deliver the support they need for their school communities, to value education as the way forward for Wales. We have a dedicated workforce ready to take on the challenge of reform, but we need a commitment from our government to work alongside the profession to drive reform through proper investment and sustained support."

NAHT Cymru yn galw am i addysg fod wrth wraidd etholiadau Senedd 2021

Mae NAHT Cymru yn galw ar ymgeiswyr, rhieni a'r cyhoedd i ymuno â'u trafodaeth am addysg ledled y wlad.

Mae ein maniffesto yn amlinellu ein pum blaenoriaeth allweddol ar gyfer addysg: llesiant, diwygio'r cwricwlwm, cyllido, anghenion dysgu ychwanegol (ADY) ac atebolrwydd. Rydym yn gofyn i bob ymgeisydd yn yr etholiad ymrwymo i addewid NAHT Cymru ar ddyfodol addysg, a byddwn yn cynnal hystingau ledled Cymru yn rhai o'r seddi mwyaf ymylol, er mwyn rhoi cyfle i ymgeiswyr rannu eu gweledigaeth ar gyfer addysg. Ymunwch â'r sgwrs ar Twitter trwy #AddewidNAHTCymru.

Meddai Laura Doel, cyfarwyddwr NAHT Cymru, wrth lansio’r ymgyrch: “Ni fu erioed amser mwy tyngedfennol i addysg yng Nghymru. Rydyn ni am weld llywodraeth sy'n mynd i weithio gyda'r proffesiwn i fuddsoddi mewn ysgolion, cefnogi arweinwyr ysgolion ac ymrwymo i system addysg wedi'i hariannu'n llawn.”

Meddai Kerina Hanson, llywydd NAHT Cymru: "Mae diwygio addysg yng Nghymru yn ymwneud â sicrhau bod ein plant a'n pobl ifanc wedi'u paratoi'n dda ar gyfer y dyfodol. Addysg yw’r sylfaen ar gyfer dyfodol Cymru, ei ffyniant a'i gallu i gynnal ei hun. Yn hynny o beth mae'n haeddu bod ar flaen y gad o ran llunio polisïau a buddsoddi. Mae gennym gyfle gwych i wneud ein system addysg yn un sydd ymysg y gorau yn y byd, a fydd yn ei thro yn gymorth i ddyfodol Cymru a'i phobl. Rydym yn dibynnu ar y llywodraeth i wireddu’r weledigaeth ar gyfer Cymru, meithrin system lle gall arloesi lwyddo, helpu ysgolion i ddarparu'r gefnogaeth sydd ei hangen arnynt ar gyfer cymunedau eu hysgol, a gosod gwerth ar addysg fel y ffordd ymlaen i Gymru. Mae gennym weithlu ymroddedig yn barod i ymgymryd â her diwygio, ond mae angen ymrwymiad gan ein llywodraeth arnom, i weithio ochr-yn-ochr â'r proffesiwn i weithredu’r newidiadau hynny trwy fuddsoddiad go-iawn a chefnogaeth barhaus."
