NAHT marches to Downing Street to hand over petition in support of maintained nursery schools

Yesterday (20 October 2021), more than 200 of our members marched from Parliament Square to Downing Street with other education campaigners and MPs to deliver a petition to the chancellor.

The petition was signed by more than 2,300 school leaders, staff and educators from almost every maintained nursery school in the country. It calls on chancellor Rishi Sunak to take urgent action to provide adequate funding for maintained nursery schools and support to address the impact of the pandemic.

The whole day was a great success, and it received a lot of press and social media coverage.

Find out more about the march, take a look at some of the great images from the event and read all about our ongoing campaign.
